Donna D'Errico grew up in Columbus, Georgia. As they say, acting is in the
blood of those who love to entertain as children. Things were no different
for Donna. Wanting attention, she entertained her neighborhood with
'little shows' and played the part of Virgin Mary in a 3rd grade play. She
was also an athlete, serving as the pitcher for her softball team. In high
school, Donna was very shy, quiet, stayed to herself, and walked with her
head down. She became the main target of a very popular group of girls who
always picked on her. Donna never expected to be a model or an actress.
She figured that at 5 feet, 4 inches tall, she was too short to model,
and never thought of herself as particularly good looking.
Donna worked at a variety of jobs. One of the jobs later became
unnecessary tabloid fodder and was blown way out of proportion. Donna was
a stripper for weekend hours for six weeks. The tabloids blew it up into a
three-year full time job just to sell their publications. During this
time, Donna had an abusive boyfriend and he forced her to work at the strip
club to earn money for him. If she didn't he would beat her up. Donna had
a child and had to think of him. She showed strength when she managed to
leave the relationship. She settled into jewelry sales, where she worked
as a store manager in Georgia, and then Florida. Later, she moved to Las
Vegas, Nevada after visiting a friend. She liked the area, so she decided
to stay. As a single Mother of young son Rhyan, she owned and operated a
limousine service there. In an interview, Donna said that she wasn't sure
that you could even call it a limo service. The service was picking up
people from one Casino to another and charging them $20 per ride. The car
wasn't in great condition and Donna wasn't sure that it was even legal
because she didn't have any permits. Donna was all business and very was
independent. She did not date or go out at this time. She had a child and
was struggling to make ends meet. She had to have financial assistance
because she could not even afford to buy her baby 'Huggies.'
Donna's big break came when she was discovered by 'Playboy' Magazine's'
modeling scout while grocery shopping. She was shopping for coffee when
this woman was following her around the store. Donna thought that it was a
store security officer that figured that she was trying to steal something.
She was however surprised when the woman handed her a business card that
said she was a scout for playboy. They have them all over the country and
looking for models and they got bonuses for each playmate. Donna appeared
as the magazine's 'Miss September' for 1995. She gained international
recognition after the issue hit the stands. Soon after that, Donna decided
to try her luck in Hollywood. Three months later, she auditioned for and
got a part on 'Baywatch Nights.' Although she had the role on 'Nights,' it
was made clear to her that she was being groomed for 'Baywatch.' Donna
worked very hard to improve her swimming skills, and got in top shape for
the physically demanding role.
Later she met and then married tattooed 'Motley Crue' band member Nikki
Sixx, the same tattooed band as that of 'Ex-Baywatch' cast member, Pamela
Anderson's ex-husband Tommy Lee. Donna dated him and they both knew that
they'd get married within () months. Donna was impressed with Nikki
because he really listened to her. Other men she dated didn't and were
only interested in getting into her pants, as she put it. Nikki has 3
children of his own, all under the age of 9. They live with the couple one
half the time, and the other half with their Mother.
Donna has graced another 'Playboy' cover in the fall of 1996. Donna
appeared on the cover of the 1997 issue of 'Inside Sports' magazine. She
and Traci Bingham modeled swimwear. She followed the tradition of
'Baywatch's' first issue that featured Gena Lee Nolin last season. She has
appeared in many national television commercials, and has made 1997 guest
appearances on specials, and talk shows such as 'VIBE,' and 'Keenen Ivory
Wayans.' Donna has also appeared as a guest on television series which
includes 'Married with Children' (FOX), 'High Tide,' The WB's 'Unhappily
ever After, and ABC's 'Sabrina, the teenaged Witch.'
Donna is best known for her role as Donna Marco, a crossover character from
the 'private investigative' series, 'Baywatch Nights.' She made her
appearance during the show's first season in 1995-1996 as the new owner of
the nightclub, 'Baywatch Nights.' Television promos for the show to
introduce Donna were an overwhelming success.
In October of 1996, she was featured in 'Shape' magazine with emphasis on
her cross over to 'Baywatch' and her workout. With major changes, 'Nights'
second season (1996-1997) made it more of an 'X-Files' type show with Mitch
Buchannon (David Hasselhoff) as a private investigator-an expert in
tackling supernatural cases. Her character Donna Marco decided to pursue
her dream to become a Lifeguard. She wanted to stay focused on her goals,
so she sold 'Nights' and made it to Rookie School. She finished first in
her class, and made her first official appearance as a Rookie Lifeguard in
'Baywatch's' 7th season opener (Shark Fever/1996-1997) while still
appearing on 'Nights.' 'Nights' was cancelled after it completed its
second season. Fans did not like the format of the show. It was too
unlike 'Baywatch.' Emphasis was placed back where it belonged. Quality
episodes of 'Baywatch.'
Donna was featured again in 'Shape' (December 1997 issue) with Gena Lee
Nolin. Donna and Gena had exercise videos available in December, during
the holiday season. Donna's video is called 'Power and Strength.' It is
from the Baywatch workout video series produced by Beach Entertainment.
She was also included in 'Maxim' magazine, which featured an article about
the 'Baywatch' women. Gena was on the cover. Donna has also made an
appearance in the 'KTLA Christmas Parade' on Sunday, December 1, 1997. One
of the big magazine covers was 'Porthole.' Donna appears with other
cast-mates (Hasselhoff, Nolin, Jackson, Chokachi and Electra) with the
feature emphasis on the season ending 3-part wedding episode set in Alaska.
Donna has been busy in 1998, as one of the cast members interviewed for TV
Guide Magazine for the Baywatch Wedding article. She also secured a
recurring role on the WB's sitcom 'Nick Freno.' She has been cast as his
girlfriend Samantha, a tool lady. Donna will not return to Baywatch in the
show's 9th season. The Executive Producers had decided to return to the
athletic format of 7 or 8 regular cast members when the show was at its
height in popularity. As a result, some of the cast members had been fired
and given their 'pink slips.' Donna was among them along with Carmen
Electra, Traci Bingham, Marliece Andrada and Angelica Bridges. It was
quite surprising that Donna was let go because she was a 'BW Nights'
character brought in exclusively groomed for 'Baywatch.' Gena Lee Nolin
who had escaped the firing process had later decided not to return before
filming started in favor of the projects offered. Jennifer Lynn Campbell
has been chosen to replace Gena as Neely. The Executive Producers decided
that they wanted to keep the character.
On the positive side, Donna will join the cast of Nick Freno in the
1998-1999 season and pursue other projects. In May, Donna became the third
lovely 'Baywatch' actress to grace the cover and poster centerfold of
'Maxim' magazine. She followed in the footsteps of Carmen Electra and Gena
Lee Nolin. The magazine sported beautiful photos of Donna as well as an
interview. The issue also featured outstanding Mothers article including
Donna, Gena and Pamela. We look forward to her other projects for the
1998-1999 season.
